Overview
Effective 26 February 2025, the Hong Kong Immigration Department (ImmD) has introduced a new fee structure for applications under the Specified Schemes. This update includes changes to both application fees and visa issuance fees.
Who will be affected?
This change impacts applicants under the following schemes:
- General Employment Policy (GEP)
- Input of Mainland Talents and Professionals (IMTP)
- Quality Migrant Admission Scheme (QMAS)
- Non-local Graduates (IANG)
- Capital Investment Entrant Scheme (CIES)
- Top Talent Pass Scheme (TTPS)
- And other Specified Schemes.
Background
Under the previous structure, no application fee was required, and a flat fee applied to each visa issuance. Under the new structure, a non-refundable application fee is now required, and a two-tier system is applied to visa issuance fees.
Impact
For Applicants:
- Application Fee: A flat fee of HKD 600 will apply to all applications, regardless of the outcome. This fee is non-refundable.
- Visa Issuance Fee: A two-tier fee will apply based on the duration of stay:
- HKD 1,300 for stays exceeding 180 days.
- HKD 600 for stays of 180 days or less.
- No Changes: The submission process and eligibility requirements remain unchanged.
For Corporate Businesses:
- Budget Planning: Companies should factor in the new fee structure when budgeting for employee relocations or visa applications.
Date of implementation
The new fee structure applies to all applications submitted on or after February 26, 2025. Applications submitted before this date will follow the previous fee structure.
