Corporate Immigration — Thailand Long Term Residents Visa (LTR) process change
The LTR Visa Unit has updated a process change for LTR Visa application on their website.
Who will be affected?
LTR applicants
Background
The previous process was the LTR Visa and work permit application are considered at the same time and after the approval, the applicant can obtain LTR Visa and work permit on the same day at the One Stop Service Center (OSSC).
Impact
With the revised process, the LTR Visa applications must be submitted and approved first. After the applicants receive the LTR Visa approval and present themselves at the Immigration Office, OSSC, to obtain LTR Visa stamping, then they can proceed with the work permit application in the LTR online system. After the work permit application is approved, the applicant must make an appointment to obtain a digital work permit at the Department of Employment, OSSC.
LTR Visa holders who work for an entity in Thailand must apply for a work permit immediately after receiving LTR Visa or before employment with an entity in Thailand starts.
Implementation date
We are currently monitoring the implementation date.
