Destination Services — Renters’ Reform Bill UK
This year there will be a lot of discussion around the Renters’ Reform Bill. We can expect the Renters’ Reform Bill to be debated and voted on before the end of May 2023. The bill if passed will reshape the lettings market in England and Wales.
What can we expect from the bill;
- Abolish section 21 ‘’no fault’’ evictions and deliver a simpler more secure tenancy structure.
- Tenants are to be provided with more notice on rent increases and have the ability to contest them.
- Strengthen the Local council’s enforcement powers and ability to crack down on criminal Landlords.
- Create a register for Landlords and introduce a private Ombudsman to help enforce Tenant’s rights.
Further details on how this will affect your Global Mobility Population will be provided once the bill has passed parliament (estimated Q3 2023)
