Extended immigration restrictions by the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
Who will be affected?
All foreign nationals travelling to Japan
Impact
– The government has officially extended the immigration restrictions for an additional month to end July.
– There is no specific notification regarding exceptional permission for any country, including Vietnam, Thailand, New Zealand or Australi
– The following 18 countries has been newly added to the landing ban list: Algeria, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Costa Rica, Cuba, Eswatini, Georgia, Grenada, Guatemala, Guyana, Haiti, Iraq, Jamaica, Lebanon, Mauritania, Nicaragua, Senegal, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines
The Justice Department also released an updated special permission for approved CoE.
Currently all approved CoE are approved to remain valid until April 30, 2021, or 6months after the lifting of the landing ban and visa ban list.
The government will keep assessing the situation on a monthly basis.
