Japanese Residence Card holders can apply online to depart and re-enter Japan
Who will be affected?
Japanese Residence Card holders currently living in Japan.
Impact
Effective from 1st September 2020, all Japanese Residence Card holders currently living in Japan will be allowed to depart from the country and re-enter on the condition of completing the below application for Permission of Re-entry before departure:
The Justice Department will announce the official email address to contact on 1st September 2020, applicants will then be able to apply directly online.
The Japan government has also announced it will re-open borders to the below countries, starting from mid-September: (exact date to be confirmed)
+ Singapore
+ Malaysia
+ Cambodia
+ Laos
+ Myanmar
