Immigration update: Thailand | Long-Term Resident (LTR) Visa program
Who will be affected?
This new program is aimed to attract high net worth individuals foreigners in 4 categories who would like to live and/ or work in Thailand.
Background
The program provides a range of tax and non-tax benefits to enhance the country’s attractiveness as a regional hub for living and doing business.
This new visa program is expected to attract new foreign residents, technologies and talents contributing to domestic spending and investment while supporting economic growth.
Impact
The Long-Term Resident Visa (LTR) program is offering approved visa holders income tax breaks, fast-track services at international airports in Thailand, 90 Day reporting extended to annual reporting, permission to work in Thailand, and an exception from the 4 Thais to 1 Foreigner employment ratio. The visa approval is up to 10 years*.
(10* years renewable visa permission will be granted to stay in Thailand. The initial visa is issued for five years which can be extended for an additional 5 years if qualifications are met.)
