Immigration update — UK to remove entry vignette for certain visa applicants from 15 July 2025
Santa Fe publication date
17 June 2025
Overview
From 15 July 2025, the UK will stop issuing 90-day entry vignettes in passports for main applicants in specific visa categories. A digital eVisa will be issued instead.
Who will be affected?
Main applicants for the following UK visas:
- Global Business Mobility
- International Sportspersons
- Skilled Workers (including Health and Care)
- Temporary Workers
Dependants and children will still receive both a vignette and an eVisa.
Background
The UK Home Office is moving towards full digitisation of immigration status records. From 15 July 2025, eligible main applicants must use a UKVI account to access their eVisa. The decision letter will include full instructions for creating the account and linking it to a travel document.
Impact
Main applicants must:
- Create a UKVI account as instructed
- Check and access their eVisa before travel
- Link their passport to their eVisa before travel
- Provide a share code and date of birth to their employer for the Right to Work check
