Overview
On the 1st of January 2023 the Italian Government has announced with the Law 213/2023, the automatic extension of the Permits to stay for the Ukrainian citizens for International Protection until the 31st of December 2024.
Who will be affected?
Into the light of this approval, anyone holder of a Permit to stay for International Protection “Ukrainian Crisis” must not report to the Police Headquarters, as the expiry of this card will be automatically extended until the 31st of December 2024.
Background
Another important news is that the possibility to convert this type of permit to stay into the Permit to stay for work purpose if the Ukrainian citizen has been employed from an Italian entity with a National Work Contract with a regular payslip.
Impact
The Ukrainians have to visit the Post Office and apply for the conversation of the Permit to stay card from “Temporary Protection” into the “Employed//Work” permit to stay card.
