Corporate Immigration update — Fast Track Immigration – Trusted Traveller Programme (FTI-TTP): Simplified Entry Process for Indian Nationals and OCI Card Holders Introduced in India.

Santa Fe publication date
16 Juy 2024
Overview
Fast Track Immigration – Trusted Traveller Programme (FTI-TTP) will ensure expedited, efficient, and secure immigration clearance through automated e-Gates, aiming to minimize human involvement and alleviate congestion at airports.
FTI-TTP will be launched at 21 major airports in the country. In the first phase, along with Delhi Airport, it will be launched at 7 major airports – Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kochi and Ahmedabad.
Who will be affected?
Implemented initially for Indian nationals and OCI card holders in the first phase, with foreign travellers included in the second phase.
Background
The FTI-TTP (Fast Track Immigration – Trusted Traveller Programme) will operate through an online portal, managed by the Bureau of Immigration to expedite immigration processes for various traveller categories. To enroll, applicants must submit their details and necessary documents online. After verification, a ‘Trusted Travellers’ Whitelist will be compiled and used for e-Gate access. Biometric data will be collected at the FRRO office or during airport passage. TTP registration remains valid until the passport expires or for up to five years, with renewal options available. Upon arrival at the e-Gates, registered passengers will scan their airline-issued boarding pass, and their passport and biometric information will be verified. Upon successful authentication, the e-Gate will automatically open, facilitating immigration clearance.
Impact
This initiative aims to significantly improve the immigration clearance process for international travellers by leveraging e-gates or automated border gates to enhance speed, efficiency, and safety while minimizing human involvement.
Date of implementation
21 June 2024
Santa Fe recommendation
By implementing advanced immigration facilities and offering an expedited pathway through automated gates (e-Gates), this initiative aims to enhance the efficiency and security of international travel, ensuring a seamless experience for travellers.
