Corporate Immigration update — Simplified Document Requirements for Professional Visit Pass (PVP) Application
Santa Fe publication date
23 August 2024
Overview
As part of the efforts to enhance service efficiency and improve the application process for expatriates, the MYXpats Centre has simplified the document requirements for the Professional Visit Pass (PVP) application. This change aims to provide a better customer experience while maintaining national security standards.
Who will be affected?
The update primarily affects companies and expatriates applying for the Professional Visit Pass (PVP) in Malaysia. It will be relevant to HR managers, legal teams, and any professionals involved in preparing PVP applications.
Background
Previously, the PVP application process required the submission of 13 different documents. This comprehensive list included detailed information about the applicant’s job role, academic qualifications, and various supporting documents depending on the nature of the work. The new requirements, reduces the required documents from 13 to just 6, streamlining the process significantly.
Impact
The key impact of this update is a more efficient and faster application process for the PVP. The reduction in required documents minimizes administrative burden and expedites the application process. However, applicants must still ensure that the remaining required documents are accurately prepared and submitted. The change could also mean fewer delays and potentially quicker processing times for PVP applications.
Date of implementation
Effective Immediately

The recent simplification of the Professional Visit Pass (PVP) application process by MYXpats Centre significantly reduces the document burden on applicants, streamlining the requirements from 13 to just 6 key documents. Please bear in mind that additional documents may be requested at the discretion of immigration authorities.
