Immigration update: Indonesia | Updated length of quarantine and timing of 2nd PCR test
The COVID-19 Task Force has issued addendum Circular Letter No. 20 of 2021. The Circular reaffirms a change in the provisions for the length of quarantine and the timing of the 2nd RT-PCR test for international travellers during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Who will be affected?
International travellers who want to enter Indonesia.
Impact
All international travellers, both Indonesian Citizens and Foreign Citizens, must comply with the following requirements:
1. RT-PCR retest upon arrival.
2. Undergo mandatory quarantine:
• 5 x 24 hours international travelers who have received the 1st dose of vaccine, or
• 3 x 24 hours for international travelers who have received the full dose of vaccine.
For Indonesian citizens within category of Migrant workers, Student and Civil Servant returning from overseas official trips, the RT-PCR retest and quarantine facilities provided by the Indonesia government are free of charge.
For Indonesian citizens outside the above criteria and foreigners, include foreign diplomats, who are not Heads of Foreign Missions & their family, are required to undergo a mandatory quarantine at designated facilities conducted by the Indonesian government at their own expense.
3. Second RT-PCR test is carried out with the following conditions:
• On the 4th day of quarantine (for international travelers who carry out quarantine with a duration of 5 x 24 hours); or
• On the 3rd day of quarantine (for international travelers who do quarantine with a duration of 3 x 24 hours).
Implementation
Effective from the 2nd November 2021.
