Immigration update: Japan | Procedure for entry into Japan from UK is amended
Who will be affected?
All foreign nationals who have stayed in the United Kingdom.
Impact
Effective from December 24, 2020, the Government of Japan (GOJ) has a directive confirming that all foreign nationals who have resided in the United Kingdom within 14 days prior to submitting their application of landing will be denied entry into Japan.
All Japanese nationals and business people residing in Japan who are travelling back from United Kingdom will be excluded from this directive which enables business people residing in Japan to conduct limited business activities upon their return/ re-entry into Japan after short-term business trips (quarantine mitigating framework).
Official programs and detailed procedures will be announced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan.
