Closure of Immigration counters during CMCO in Malaysia
The front counters of the eXpats Service centre at Cyberjaya, Expatriate Services Division (ESD) at Putrajaya and MYXpats Centre at Mutiara Damansara will be closed from 14th October 2020 until 27th October 2020.
Who are affected?
All companies who utilises the services of the eXpats Service centre at Cyberjaya or Expatriate Services Division (ESD) at Putrajaya or MYXpats Centre at Mutiara Damansara for EP / DP / LTSVP applications.
Background
Malaysia has entered a recovery phase regarding the COVID19 pandemic. The order related to this is made under the Prevention Act and Infectious Disease Control 1988 and Police Act 1967. The RMCO was to end on the 31st August 2020, however it has been extended to 31st December 2020.
The Government of Malaysia has announced to implement the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) for the whole of Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, and Putrajaya from 14 October 2020 until 27 October 2020 in view of the cases being widespread in terms of location.
Impact
1) Expats Service Centre, Cyberjaya
- Online application of Approval Stage will continue to be processed.
- Online appointment that has been booked will be automatically cancelled but companies may proceed to book new slots from the 28th October 2020 onwards.
- The centre is still open for collection of endorsed passports until Friday, 16th October 2020. Representatives from companies may walk-in to the centre for collections only.
- There will be no phone support due to the limited resources within the eXpats Service Centre, but communication can take place via email and chatbot/live chat only.
- The Front Counter service will resume on 28th October 2020 or after the Conditional Movement Control Order has ended.
2) Expatriate Services Division (ESD), Putrajaya and MYXpats Centre, Mutiara Damansara
- Further to this latest update, all counter services in Expatriate Services Division (ESD) at Putrajaya and MYXpats Centre at Mutiara Damansara will be temporarily CLOSED from 14 October 2020 until 27 October 2020 . However, ESD/RP-T online system, calls and email services will remain and operate as usual.
- Any appointment applied through MYHelp that has been approved and confirmed between the 14 October 2020 until 27 October 2020 is required to be re-scheduled to 28 October 2020 onwards via MYHelp.
- The Front Counter service will resume on 28th October 2020 or after the Conditional Movement Control Order has ended.
There may be delays in the endorsement process and for collection of endorsed passports.
Implementation
Effective from 14th October 2020 until 27th October 2020.
