Stricter Borders Controls in Morocco
We have noted a tightening in border controls by the Moroccan Border Police over the last few days. They are especially reviewing the documents required for minor children travelling with their parents.
Who will be affected?
This will affect all foreign nationals travelling to and from Morocco.
Background
As the stricter border controls are primarily focussed on minors we recommend to all foreigners in Morocco to apply for a “Document de Circulation” for their minor children. This document allows the holder to enter and depart from Morocco and may be issued for a period of up to one year on initial application. The application for a “Document de Circulation” is done at the police station or the gendarmerie in the applicants’ area of residence. The process is similar to that of “Titre de Séjour” for dependants.
Impact
Any traveller trying to enter or depart from Morocco and who is not in possession of the required documents risks not being allowed entry or being fined upon departure.
