Immigration update: Thailand | Auto extension of all visas until 31 July 2020
Under the background of COVID-19, the Ministry of Interior has granted permission to automatically extend all visas until 31 July 2020, effective immediately.
Who will be affected?
All foreigners residing in Thailand and having their visas expire from 26 March, 2020
Impact
This announcement applies to foreigners who are currently residing in Thailand under all visa types.
Below are the changes following this announcement:
1. Visas of the aforementioned foreigners will be automatically extended until 31 July, 2020, provided that their visas have not expired prior to 26 March, 2020
2. 90 days reporting of the aforementioned foreigners due from 26 March, 2020 will be exempted temporarily until 31 July, 2020.
The Immigration Bureau will process the above mentioned steps automatically without any fees. This announcement will stand until further notice from the government.
