Immigration update: Thailand | Test & Go Scheme update
Recent changes to the Test & Go Scheme are applicable from the 1st March 2022.
Who will be affected?
Foreigners who are entering Thailand.
Background
The previously added restriction to the Test & Go Scheme, announced on 1st February, were released. The Thai Government have reassessed the safety measures and decided to revise the requirements for overseas travelers entry into the country.
Impact
As previously reported here, there were specific conditions on entry to the original Test & Go Scheme.
From the 1st March 2022, the requirement for the 2nd pre-paid PCR test on Day 5 after the travelers’ arrival in Thailand will be dropped. It will instead be replaced with a rapid antigen test travelers can take on their own (available at any convenience store) by recording and reporting the result using a designated application.
In addition, the required ‘COVID’ insurance will be reduced from USD50,000 to USD20,000.
The following new rules will be in effect from 1st March 2022. Travelers can enter Thailand from the 7th March 2022.
