Industry Award — Celebrating excellence in Global Mobility

We are thrilled to announce that John Rason, our Group Head of Consulting at Santa Fe Relocation, has been awarded the prestigious 20th Anniversary Award for Outstanding Contribution to Research and Thought Leadership by Relocate Magazine and Relocate Global. This recognition marks a significant milestone in John’s illustrious career, celebrating several decades of pioneering work in the Global Mobility industry.

John has consistently delivered high-impact research reports, webinars and panel discussions that have significantly shaped the understanding and importance of global mobility. His dedication and insightful contributions have been pivotal in advancing best practices and innovative strategies in the industry, most notably for our clients and best practices internally for our employees.

Over the last ten years, John has spearheaded our acclaimed Global Mobility Survey series, which has garnered 12 awards in the past five years alone. This series is a testament to his relentless pursuit of excellence and commitment to providing invaluable insights and data to Global Mobility professionals worldwide. Through countless roadshows and other initiatives, John has been at the forefront of pioneering best practices in Global Mobility.

Although John could not attend the Awards Gala Dinner on June 6th, where the surprise announcement was met with enthusiastic applause, we look forward to presenting the award to him in person over the summer or early autumn. This will be an excellent opportunity to reflect on the transformative changes in Global Mobility over the past two decades and to explore the exciting future ahead.

Industry recognition and impact

Under John’s leadership, the Global Mobility Series (GMS) is a multi-award-winning initiative recognized for its industry excellence over the last seven years. The 2022/23 GMS report series alone, featuring four comprehensive reports and webinars attended by over 700 participants, has provided up-to-date strategic insights and practical perspectives, with a fifth report on the way.

As the judges frequently note, “John demonstrates the value and importance of research to the Global Mobility industry, and the availability of research documents and webinars to those in the industry demonstrates his commitment to sharing knowledge, understanding, and best practices. His research is detailed and well-presented, making a strong contribution to knowledge, demonstrating implications for practice, and showing an innovative approach to research by a relocation management professional.”
