It’s unlikely the permanent residency requirements will change until the final Brexit negotiations are complete and some form of agreement is reached.
In the meantime to apply for the permanent residence in the UK you need to be a qualified person, that means having one of the following status’: working, studying, self-employed, looking for work or self-sufficient.
To reduce any concerns/anxieties people have about the final Brexit settlement we have been advising those who have already satisfied the current requirements to apply for their permanent residency visa straight away.
None of this would prevent a person relocating to a third country at some point in the future but it does secure their future in the UK right away. If you’re applying for a permanent residence, please contact Santa Fe Relocation and one of our dedicated immigration experts will be in touch.
If you’re aiming to get a permanent resident card for you, a family member or dependent children start your application process now.
There are many reasons to apply for the UK Permanent Residence. You may be an extended family member of someone from the European Economic Area and Switzerland, or you may want to apply for British citizenship, or you may want to sponsor your partner or spouse’s visa application. For all these circumstances you will need the permanent resident card to confirm your residence status in the UK.
